Happy New Year (only a few days late)! We had a fantastic New Year weekend with a lot of relaxation involved. I have to say that it was a much different way to ring in the New Year than years past, but I would’t have it any other way.

Last NYE trip to the mountains
Drew and I (and Scout) traveled down to Charleston to celebrate New Years Eve with our good friends, Megan and Brandon. Megan is also pregnant which makes it so nice as they know exactly what we are going through. We decided to take it easy and watch the Orange Bowl at their house before getting ready for dinner (Go Tigers!).
We had dinner reservations at 10pm at Halls Chophouse in downtown Charleston. We made such late reservations to ensure that we would be awake for the ball to drop (pregnancy problems!). It was a fantastic meal complete with my favorite–lobster mac and cheese!

The next morning, we all headed to Edisto Island for a long weekend. It was such a relaxing weekend filled with great food, people, conversation and of course beach walks!

While the boys were fishing (they caught 7!), Megan and I headed to Botany Bay which is located right outside of Edisto Beach and still on the Island. It was absolutely beautiful–and I am still in shock that I never knew that it was there! I will definitely be making another visit to Botany Bay 🙂
Hope you had a great start of 2016!
